Orthodontic treatment can either be completed all at once or in phases, depending on your age and treatment needs. The first phase in a 2-phase program usually lasts from 12 to 18 months. Full treatment (when all adult teeth have erupted) usually takes between 20 to 36 months.

Braces are used to correct misaligned teeth. Today's braces are smaller, more comfortable and more efficient than ever before, and are available in several colors, including clear or tooth-colored versions. At your consultation with Dr. Coleman, he'll recommend the most effective treatment for you or your child.

Problems that can be corrected with braces

Certain appliances can be used in addition to braces during orthodontic treatment. Those include the Herbst appliance, lingual arch and bite plate. If these appliances are part of your or your child's recommended treatment plan, Dr. Coleman will explain each in detail for you.
